Sai Gautam's All-round Performance led Motor City Chargers

Game : RyderswithHawks vs Motor City Chargers
MoM : Sai Gautam Rangu
23(21) and 2/9
Match Summary : Motor City Chargers won by 22 runs

First Innings -
Motor City Chargers won the toss and chose to bat. Team was excited to be back on field and with high spirit everyone was ready to start the tournament on a good note. Top order collapsed early in the powerplay with excellent line and lengths from the RyderswithHawks opening bowlers. Sai Gautam representing Motor City Chargers for the first time had a great debut by playing positive and attacking cricket, helped build a partnership with Sampath and moved the scorecard forward. Gautam boosted the run rate by scoring back to back boundaries in the 10th over before the break. Team was in a good position at 53/4 at the end of 10 overs. After the break, Opponents were able to get the break-through with some smart bowling and fielding efforts. A fantastic sharp throw from the deep to the bowler from Yeshwanth to run out Karthik opened the lower order. Lost wickets on regular intervals where batsmen couldn't convert the start into bigger numbers. Lower order chipped in with few runs and couldn't finish the 20 overs and were all out for 83 in 17.5 overs. A decent score on the board given the conditions and applause to Giridhar Bhandari from RyderswithHawks for finishing his spell with 3/20 (4 overs) and Rahul Amudala with 2/10 (3o vers) and Sai Gautam scoring 23(21) with a 100 above strike rate and Sampath with a decent 13 runs being the top performers in the first innings.

Second Innings -
Motor City Chargers got off to what a start should look like when defending a target of 84 in 120 balls with 4 wickets in the powerplay shackling the top order of RyderswithHawks. Prashanth Reddy Palle and Sandeep Reddy Tummuri duo have managed to get the breakthroughs with decent outfield catching and sharp runout by Sampath and Sarvesh. Sai Gautam picked up his first wicket for the team in his debut over. Siddhanth and Amarnath steadied the fall of wickets with 31 runs partnership for almost 10 overs. Both of them played smart cricket by keeping the scorecard ticking with strike rotation and few extras from the bowlers. A few catch drops of Amarnath raised the tensions, till the 15th over where Sandeep Tummuri back into the attack got Amar out caught by Prashanth in almost a close chance. The game was poised to be an exciting one when the equation came down to 29 runs off 24 balls. Man of the moment, Gautam was brought into attack and he picked up another wicket. The duo of Sandeep and Prashanth ran through the lower order of RyderswithHawks by grabbing two wickets each in the 17th and 18th overs respectively making sure Motor City Chargers secure their first win of the tournament. Amar and Siddhanth were the top scorers of 20 and 16 to their names and the trio of bowlers Prashanth, Sandeep and Gautam picked 8 wickets by conceding 28 runs of 11.3 overs combined.

Motor City Chargers Captain's Note - It was a good game with both the teams playing with a friendly spirit  along with many familiar acquaintances. Our bowlers were top of their mark today, conceded a few extras and some catch drops which we plan to correct in our next games. Batting was decent, batsmen should try to finish the 20 overs and support each other in building partnerships. Team is very happy to see Gautam showing his potential in his very first game and Vinod, a new member of the team showing positive intent. We are looking forward to a great summer and giving our best in the field and taking back some good memories back with us. Thanks to FCC in organizing and making sure the sport is played in a positive spirit round the year.
