SSK's comfortable win over Sluggers

Summary: Southfield Super Kings 100/8- Sluggers 68/10. SSK won by 32 runs. 


On a warm Sunday afternoon, SSK won the toss and chose to bat against Sluggers.
SSK's openers Vinoth and Lingappa started cautiously. However, in the 4th over, Srikanth was able to break the opening stand by bowling out Lingappa. Sluggers captain Vignesh bowled the 5th over to pickup 2 wickets and left SSK tattering at 14/3. Some good batting and catch drops enabled Vinoth and Sachin to stitch a good 4th wicket partnership and added 44 runs before Sachin was caught behind. The very next ball, the set batsman Vinoth was run out courtesy a brilliant fielding effort from Sai Adarsh, with the score at 58/5. SSK's lower order batsman made some handy contributions as they finished their innings strong with 100 on the board. For Sluggers, Vignesh and Kiran finished with another impressive spell of 4/14 and 2/12 respectively. For SSK, Vinoth had a good outing scoring 31 runs off 36 deliveries. 

Sluggers also started their innings cautiously and lost Kiran in the 4th over. Sluggers lost a couple more wickets and were reeling behind at 28/3 in the 8th over. Prithvi and Moorthy had a decent stand. Moorthy was run out in the 11th over attempting a risky 2nd run. From then, Sluggers lost wickets one after another in quick succession and Sluggers were stranded at 50/7 at the end of 14th over. The lower order batsmen provided some rearguard and took the game till the 20th over. The last 2 wickets fell in the last 2 overs of the game. SSK bowlers Ramesh Babu picked up 3/11, whereas Priyesh and Vinoth also picked up 2 wickets each.
