Match Documents:
The home team (Venghai) set up the field promptly and ensured that the match started on time. Team Braves won the toss and chose to bat first. Debasish and Amit of Braves opened the innings and were very disciplined in judging the lines bowled by the Venghai opening bowlers. This became apparent with as many as 11 runs in extras alone conceded in the first three overs by Venghai. Venghia's first break came in the 6th over, as Lenin Nampally bowled Debasish for 10 runs off 18 balls. With the opening partnership broken, Tarun Aghara took advantage in the next overtaking the wicket of Amit soon after his opening partner fell. The Braves? batsmen never recovered from there. Tarun Aghara proved to be the most effective by keeping his extras low and going on to take three more wickets afterward. The Braves? innings came to an end with 75 runs to show. A total that could be chased by Venghai, but one the Braves could hold if they could get key wickets early. The game was about who would make fewer mistakes. The Braves? fielders dropped two chances early on and Anand took advantage of this. He went on to score 33 runs off 23 balls. With the run-scoring as they were, 75 runs proved to be a minuscule total for Venghai to chase, as they won the game in the 11th over. Tarun?s bowling performance earned him the player of the match. This game was played in a very friendly environment. Both teams seemed to enjoy playing against each other and even cheered good fielding efforts on either side. Both sides ensured their players got fair chances in both bowling and batting departments - this was very encouraging! Overall it was a great game of cricket, played in the right spirit from both sides. MoM : Tarun Aghara Contributors : Jagan Gottimukkala & Christian Fiaschetti Editor : Dinesh Devaraj
